The song "Counting Your Blessings" had special meaning to me today. Thinking about leaving New Hampshire tomorrow night leaves me feeling sleepless and worried. And the simple lyrics and beautiful tune are like a soothing lullaby.
When I'm worried and I can't sleep,
I count my blessing instead of sheep,
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings.
When my bankroll is gettin' small,This Christmas, I can't give all the gifts I wish I could. We don't have the "bankroll" for a fancy Christmas party or tickets to a holiday show. But I feel so blessed for what we have this season: a chance to visit with both our families on special holidays, a new home to move into in a few weeks, and a husband with whom I get to share our first Christmas together!
I think of when I had none at all,
And I fall asleep, counting my blessings.
I'll count these blessings, and so many others, tonight and whenever I feel that ache of sleeplessness, worry, or homesickness. Happy Thanksgiving!
